Liaqat Jatoi to be nabbed if charges proved positive

Updated at: 1037 PST, Thursday, December 03, 2009 KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza said former Sindh chief minister Liaquat Ali Jatoi will be arrested if the charges of keeping illegal weapons leveled on him proved positive while the investigations in this connection are underway, Geo news reported. This he in presence of media at a dinner hosted by the media cell of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), where Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah was also present. According to reports from Dadu, the native town of Jatoi, his arrest orders were issued following an incident, in which the police recovered some rockets from a petrol pump, which is owned by Jatoi and located in Mehar, a town in Dadu district, but however, no official confirmation has been made to public or media. According to local police, a young boy, Jawad Chandio, was killed at Jatoi’s petrol pump on Wednesday morning when one of the rockets, which was dumped at the petrol pump, fired and hit Chandio. The police had not arrested Jatoi before filing of this report.
