Malik to continue conferring with ulema over terrorism KARACHI: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik Sunday asserted India is involved in the extremist incidents in Pakistan and that the arms and ammunitions are being smuggled into the country from Afghanistan.

Talking to journalists on arriving in Karachi from Islamabad, he urged the ulema (religious scholars) to play their most sought-after role and bring to the fore the positive aspect of Islam.

The interior minister said the ongoing wave of terrorism and suicide attacks being carried out in the country stand in contradiction with Islam, adding he would have consultations with all the ulema in this connection.

The minister said he would hold discussion over the issue with all the leaders including Altaf Hussain and Sindh Chief Minster Qaim Ali Shah.

The government affairs would be run in accordance with the people’s desires, he voiced his resolve.

On a query, the federal minister said he has several times said that India is involved in terrorism in Pakistan.
