Sukarno chowk blast: Saboteurs nabbed

Updated at: 1557 PST, Wednesday, December 02, 2009 PESHAWAR: Two persons involved in October 9 bombing at Sukarno chowk have been arrested, Chief Capital Police (CCPO) Peshawar Liaquat Ali said. In a press briefing held in Police Lines here, CCPO Peshawar said the mastermind of blast has belonged to Lashker-e-Islam. The two persons arrested identified as Ismail from Dera Ismail Khan and Shakeel from Charsadda. Ismail had parked the explosive laden car at Sukarno chowk whereas Shakeel had arranged his meeting with mastermind of the blast. The accused disclosed that mastermind of blast named Syed Noor is a member of Lashkar-e-Islam and he is a resident of tehsil Bara. Two other persons Feroz and Peerzada were also involved in the blast. CCPO said it was a remote-controlled blast.
